Frantz filters are by-pass filters that trap and remove
contaminants as small as sub-micron sized particles and offer many benefits.
These filters are used to clean engine oil, transmission oil, fuel (Petrol and
diesel), coolant and in fact any oil. Read about By-Pass
filtration.
Frantz filters are quality filtration systems that best
protect your machinery. Standard filtration supplied with automotive engines,
and combustion engines alike, are full flow filters. The full flow filters
provide basic filtration and only partially clean the oil. Before long the oil
must be replaced to remove contaminants from the lubrication system.
Remove the contaminants from the oil and the oil is still ok to use.
So there is a built in cost of oil servicing that is
unnecessary. But it doesn’t have to be that way! Can that cost be reduced? The
answer is YES! The answer is by-pass filtration and that is where Frantz filters
excel.
By-Pass filtration systems utilize a fraction of the full
flow of oil delivered by the oil pump. For any given oil pressure this flow is
regulated by the oil flow characteristics of the filter design. The purpose of
the filter is to clean the oil more thoroughly than the full flow filter and
return this oil back to the oil well (the sump) of the engine.
The oil is cleaned continually while the equipment is in operation.
This achieves two important outcomes. Firstly, the full flow of oil is maintained and delivered to the equipment lubrication system. Oil pumps are designed to over supply the lubrication system so that adequate lubrication is ensured. By taking a fraction of the oil flow, typically less than 10%, the lubrication function is not affected. Second, the oil is continuously re-refined to a higher quality and can continue to be used for longer than is normally specified. In some cases the oil can be used for the life of the equipment.
The Frantz filter re-refines the oil. Contaminants are removed because these filters remove much smaller particles (>0.1 microns), water and water-soluble materials. Even soot is removed.
Very few products reduce your operating costs like the Frantz filters.
The benefits of using a Frantz filter are:
Saves you money because of:
Less component wear.
Less equipment maintenance.
Less equipment downtime.
Wear deteriorated power output is diminished or eliminated.
Oil change intervals are extended.
Spin-on filters last longer.
Lower operating costs.
Equipment has a longer working life.
Less oil is used.
Less waste to be disposed.
Less cost of waste disposal.
As you can see, there are many reasons why Frantz filters should be used!
